Revenge of the Fallen

i finally watched transformers 2: revenge of the fallen, and boy was it mind boggling. so many robots and a very interesting storyline, basically in this installment, there is a new bad guy called the fallen and there is a reason why he is the fallen, you see he was part of the original 13 transformer's. and their job was to charge the all spark with energon, and in order to charge the all spark the original 13 had destroy suns by using the sun harvester. but they had a rule they will not destroy sun's of planets with living things on it. soon the 13 discover earth in it's early stages of live and decide not to destroy it's sun, but fallen rebels and gets defeated by his brothers and they kill themselves in order to hide the key which generates the sun harvester. and back to present time megatron gets resurrected by the constructicons and meets up with starscream and the fallen on their new moon base. sam witwicky is the map to the location of the sun harvester key. and from here the story picks up very well. you can see devastator and prime using jetfire parts to powerlink. awesome movie. 8/10 for me, story could have done a bit more explaining on the fallen's survival.

MAY 27TH aftermath

may 27 is over and guess what! manchester united are not the champions of europe, but my favorite team barcelona are. it was match to remember, lionel messi and samuel eto'o scored the two goals to seal the champions league and become treble champions, they won the spanish cup, the la liga and the champions league. this to me proves without a shadow of a doubt that barca is the most powerful team in europe. barcelona has players whom individually have varied set of skills, which would mean that as unit they perform fluidly but if individual players are cornered or caught in a tight spot, they have the particular skill to get out of it and this guys are technically sound. as for man-u they have really skilled players, but only one of them is truly gifted and that is ronaldo and one man can never win the trophy for an entire team unless of course if you are maradonna. that being all said it was truly exhilarating to watch man-u fall at the hands of barca. but victory and celebration aside, my other team which truly love celtic have this failed to capture scottish league, i hope they destroy rangers next year and claim the trophy. till then spoils to the losers, glory to the victors.

street fighter 4 - anime

after many years of not following street fighter franchise, i was pleasantly surprised to find that in street fighter 4 anime, many of the original characters made a return. the storyline is such that, since the last battle between ryu and ken, the both of them have parted ways, ryu in solitude and wanting to avenge the death of his master gouken and defeat his master's brother akuma. ken on the other hand has established himself as a rich tycoon and married his love eliza, but he is still unable to forget ryu his friend and rival. chun-li, cammy and guile end up investigating mysterious disappearance's of the world's top fighters and all of this links to ryu and his satsui-no-hado[murderous intent]. the climax was lame but other parts of the well written story was good-unlike the bloody lame movie which came out few months back the legend of chun-li. they totally ruined the character and screwed up everything solid about street fighter and the previous street fighter movie which came out in the 90's starring jean-claude van damme as guile was a another screw up of the franchise. never make a movie if you can't cast the right actors .....period. where the movies have failed the anime as succeeded, good story arc and excellent voice casting is definite plus point in street fighter 4. if i can rate it, i would give the show a 7.5/10- the lame ending causes point drops. but still to me i grew up with street fighter and it was one of my first anime's and game, no matter what, this show will always be special to me.

transformers

damn what a week of boredom, i remember watching the trailer preview of the transformer movie and bham! my boredom was gone now i await the release of the movie come june 24th. i totally enjoyed the first installment of the movie, it totally broke all expectations of how the movie gonna be, i mean watching prime transform was absolutely mind boggling, but my favourite secene in the movie would be starscream transforming into the f-22, 4 seconds flat. the first had very little transformers and yet the movie delivered a good show. and the second one, judging by the trailer i have seen is gonna blow the box office, the decepticons i believe are gonna whoop serious autobutt. i will watch transformers 2 and review it in depth after the 24th of june. till then i just have to wait it out.

avengers movie, can it work?

i was thinking today how the new avengers movie is gonna be like. i mean can they really find actors who can fill in the shoes of such characters as, captain america or thor and even if they do find the actors, can the actors pull off the roll? i am an avid marvel comics fan and i really like the avengers comic series, but i always wondered can an avengers movie work? well they did find a solid iron-man in robert downey jr. and edward norton as the hulk brought new depth to a very complex character and hugh jackman has wolverine....perfect! but there are also some flops like ben affleck as daredevil, i loved the daredevil comics before the movie came out, and vinnie jones as the juggernaut... well that sucked and furthermore juggernaut in the original comic story arc is not a mutant, and the movie screwed that up by making juggernaut a mutant. thomas jane as the punisher worked very well, but ray stevenson's as the punisher in the sequel made it lame and the movie had no proper story build up. to me the most perfect comic to movie transition would be the spiderman movies except for venom in the 3rd installment and the fantastic four 1st movie, the second didn't portray galactus very well. so due this observations that i have made, i really hope the avengers movie would be like a spiderman movie transition and not a daredevil type movie transition.

bleach

i was watching bleach: the diamond dust rebellion and i gotta say it was pretty average, i find that animes which air weekly are better then their movie counterparts. i say this because in the weekly airing of animes, the writers have the luxury to built very detailed back stories for their characters whereas in the movie, everything has to be condensed to keep the movie within the time frame. what i found irritating in the above mentioned movie was the character build up for the antagonist was poorly done, he was killed for having the same abilities as the good guy and and returns from the dead to exact his revenge only to end up dead again. i found that utterly disappointing and even worse was the fact they didn't use the title character kurosaki ichigo to his max abilities, he was more of background character in movie. but i only find the movie to be average but as for the anime series itself, i totally love it, the anime has some really cool characters bolstered by a very good plot line and solid action sequences. and if i were to choose a favourite character it would definitely be zaraki kenpachi, a freak of nature and dude who loves to fight..... bleach to me is still one of the most excellent animes out there.

the team i hate but respect

i am never a man-u fan and i hate man-u to the core, but today this guys made history by equalling liverpool's title reign and becoming champions again. and i respect any team who can pull off such a feat. anyways the team i root for, barcelona is in manchester's way of gaining champions league glory. and i really hope that barca defeats man-u in rome. but credit must be given to manchester for reaching the finals of the champions league, they currently have a very strong squad and excellently skilled players in different positions, and furthermore they have great strategist in sir alex ferguson, and compared to my beloved barca's guardiola, man-u has a trump card in ferguson's managerial skills. but barca has a very offensive line-up in etoo, henry and my fav 'baby maradona' as i like to call him, lionel messi. so i believe come the champions league finals- man-u vs barca is gonna be a show fit for the gods. and to liverpool fans don't be sad, be glad you have rivals in man-u. thats what keeps football interesting.... a great rivalry.
